Description

The 65’ high luminous column of light is suspended in the atrium of the Hong Kong Convention Center where it acts as a meeting point and orientation device within the convention center entry sequence and, at night, as a beacon within Hong Kong bay. Suspended from a series of stainless steel tension rods attached to the roof of the entrance lobby, the sculpture can be viewed from below without obstructing the ground plane. Its volumetric translucent surface is composed of semi-transparent laminated glass triangles with machined edges.

The sculpture is artificially lit at night creating a luminous emblem for the convention center seen from central and Hong Kong Harbor.
