INSPIRING LIGHT: DESIGNING AND CREATING LUMINOUS WAVE WALL

A highlight of the Facades+ West Conference, the first of two presentations on the new Terminal One at the San Diego Airport focuses on Luminous Wave, an art installation that also functions as a high-performance building skin for the new terminal’s ticketing hall. James Carpenter, president of James Carpenter Design Associates; Justin Tien, technical director and senior associate at Gensler; Soheil Mohammadi, principal at Walter P Moore; and Sanjeev Tankha, building technology and facades practice leader at Starq Design, will demonstrate how the design filters light into the building, while also meeting the project’s high-performance standards.
